The great thing about having the walls done in the house is that I can now put down flooring and not worry about getting the floors damaged. I chose to go with a darker laminate flooring that has a texture to it to help with the “fakeness” factor.
I chose to go with Pergo laminate flooring because it has a 24hr water resistance and since I am out with the horses and in the weather a lot and have my dog Grace around it made sense to choose something more resistant to water. So the flooring I chose was Pergo Outlast+ Vintage Pewter Oak that you can find here from Home Depot.
This laminate flooring has a pad attached to the underside of the planks so it made it easier to install. This was the first time I have ever installed laminate flooring and to be honest after the first little bit it just becomes relatively easy. Disregard the hammer in the picture, I used that to make sure there were no nails or staples sticking up in the subfloor.
In this panoramic shot you can see that I decided to lay the flooring in multiple rooms without using transitions there are a bunch of youtube videos on how to do this and it turned out great! The reason why I decided to go the transitionless route is that I think it looks cleaner and more planned out in a house. Rather than having a bunch of transitions saying that you are walking into another room.
Grace seems to love it too!
